Congratulations to ECR Dr. Zachary Laksman

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Zachary Laksman for two of his recent achievements.

Dr. Laksman is the principal investigator for the project Development of high-throughput assays to stratify cardiotoxic drug risk by sex and genotype. This project is the recipient of Canada’s Stem Cell Network (SCN) Impact Awards, receiving $249,997. Dr. Laksman’s project is one of 24 regenerative medicine research projects funded by SCN, which collectively total $8.92 million in funding. Information regarding these awards can be found here. Dr. Laksman is also an author on the recent publication Current State and Future of Polygenic Risk Scores in Cardiometabolic Disease: A Scoping Review in the journal Circulation: Genomic and Precision Medicine. When you have a moment, read the article!

Dr. Zachary Laksman is an Assistant Professor in UBC Faculty of Medicine’s Division of Cardiology, and has affiliations with UBC School of Biomedical Engineering (SBME), Centre for Heart Lung Innovation (HLI), Hearts in Rhythm Organization, Providence Health Research Institute, and Centre for Cardiovascular Innovation.
