An article from the Faculty of Medicine calls attention to exciting findings by UBC scientists. With Dr. Sorensen as senior author of the study in question, the team has identified a potential drug that could halt the spread of osteosarcoma. As the most common bone cancer in children and teenagers, Dr. Sorensen states “This discovery brings much needed new hope to children and youth battling osteosarcoma".

Canada’s $140 Million Investment Propels B.C. Towards Global Leadership in Life Sciences

Hot off the press, this new article by the B.C. Government reiterates how the UBC-led Canada’s Immuno-Engineering and Biomanufacturing Hub (CIEBH) will keep the province at the forefront of the future of life sciences. The 3 projects receiving funding from the province include the AVENGER platform, for which Dr. Pieter Cullis and Dr. Anna Blakney are project directors.
