The BC Children's Hospital Research Institute has published an exciting interview with Dr. Jonathan Rayment. Dr. Rayment is responsible for significant changes that are being made in the process of screening for graft-versus-host disease. This disease is a side effect that can occur particularly in children who have received bone marrow transplants. Using the non-invasive technique of multiple breath washout, compared to spirometry or a lung biopsy, this screening technique eliminates the physical demand placed on the patient, and may reduce false positives.
