The Weston Family Foundation Launches Proof-of-Principle 2024 Program
The new program aims to support high-impact projects that seek to identify, validate, or apply microbiome-based biomarkers of disease and therapeutic response. Interested applicants are encouraged to attend a May information session and submit a letter of intent before 4 June 2024.

Regulatory Science and Health Economics Course Complete With 2-Day Workshop
Regulatory Science and Health Economics is the second of two courses in the ATM's UBC Micro-certificate in Regulatory Affairs in the Life Sciences. This 2-day workshop completed the course, and included presenters Dr. Dean Regier, Dr. Sam Pollard, Deirdre Weymann, and Emanuel Krebs.

Competition Open: CIHR Operating Grant–ECRs in Human Development, Child and Youth Health
This funding opportunity for early career researchers totals $1,800,000, enough to fund ~12 grants at up to $50,000 per year for up to 3 years. Application deadlines are in September 2024, providing adequate time for those interested to prepare an application.

BCCHR Investigator Grant Award Program (IGAP) Announces Open Call for Clinician Scientists
The IGAP Award 'is intended to support existing Clinician Scientists who are looking to further develop and grow their research programs with the support of salary funding towards dedicated research time'. The competition supports up to 2 new salary awards at the Clinician Scientist level, each at a maximum of $134,000 per year for 5 years.

The Rapid Response project is designed to provide seed funding to catalyze novel, high-risk, high-reward translational research that accelerates the development of therapeutics or tools for neurodegenerative diseases of aging.
